Arcos de la Frontera is located on the planes of the "Ruta de los pueblos blancos" in the heart of Costa de la Luz. The historical town of Arcos boasts beautiful Christian-era monuments and narrow labyrinthine streets.

Situated on cliffs above the river Guadelete, Arcos's 15th century Moorish castle has staggering views over the valley. The beauty of its complex historical architecture recalls the most typical Andalusian flavour. Thanks to its meandering streets and patios, reminding us of its rich historical past. . It served by excellent network links and the location of "Arcos de la Frontera" connects you with several popular areas to visit such as "Bahia Gaditana", Jerez (the city famous for sherry and horses) and Seville. Another natural paradise close by is "La Serrania" and "Grazalema Natural Park". With its wonderful sparkling mountain streams and lakes and being just 20 km from the national park of Sierra De Grazalema, Arcos will be a haven for hikers and nature lovers.

For those who enjoy playing golf there are lots of golf courses near by to practice their game.

Only ten minutes from the international airport of Jerez with 2 flights a day from London and daily flights from Berlin. Gibraltar Airport only 45 minutes away offers an alternative for flights to and from the UK. Getting there couldn't be easier.

The beautiful city of Cadiz is a short drive away and the port of Santa Maria, famous for its sherry and excellent seafood restaurants is well worth a visit. The fabulous unspoiled beaches of the Costa de Luz are only 20 minutes away. This is an outstanding opportunity to own a beautiful inland property and to be able to experience the real Spain.

This Project is due for completion in May 2007 and deposits are already being taken as many of our clients have seen the potential this area offers. The development consists of three bedroom, two bathroom apartments offering panoramic lakeside views. They are perfect for a holiday home or a permanent base and have tremendous rental potential. In short, they are an excellent investment for only £53,506.

Health and Medical Treatment PDF Print E-mail

Nationals of EU countries are eligible for free emergency medical treatment when staying in Spain for less than 90 days and on production of the correct documentation.

If you are a resident of the United Kingdom, you need to obtain form E111 which is free and available at most main post offices.  In addition, it is advisable for holiday makers to arrange private medical insurance to cover for other eventualities.

For those living and working in Spain, you are entitled to free or subsidised medical and dental treatment if:
you pay Spanish social securityyou are a retired EU resident receiving a Spanish state pension
you have paid social security contributions in another EU country for two full years or more prior to coming to Spain, you will then have cover for a limited period.
you are a retired EU  national of retirement age who isn’t in receipt of a pension, but can prove you cannot afford private health insurance.

If you need an ambulance, 061 is the national emergency number in Spain.   Alternatively, taxis by law must transport a medical emergency to hospital if requested.  Should you need to use a private vehicle to transport someone to hospital in an emergency, it is usually sufficient to put on your hazard lights and wave a piece of white material out of the car to gain priority over other vehicles.

If you are able, you can go to the casualty department of a hospital or a 24 hour public health clinic.  If you own a property in Spain you should find out your nearest hospital casualty department and how to get there.

There are also 24 hour private clinics in many areas, and they offer a quick service at all hours, usually at a reasonable price.

You will find that many chemists post a list of local clinics and hospitals where emergency treatment is available.

Spanish Education PDF Print E-mail

Spanish Education has undergone a dramatic tranformation over the past decade, with a huge improvement in standards in both private and state schools.

Education is not compulsory in Spain until the age of six.

Many parents of British children choose to send their children to Spanish nursery school first, where they learn the language quickly.

At age 11, children are often moved to English or international schools.

State school education is free, whilst private school fees start from about 6,000 Euros per annum.  There are a good range of international schools in the more popular areas and around cities, whilst more remote areas have only Spanish schools.

With over 300 days of sunshine per annum and an average year round temperature of 70 degrees, Southern Spain enjoys an ideal climate.  Winters are extremely mild, Spring and Autumn are almost always warm and dry, and Summers are inevitably hot.

Whilst the climate varies in different parts of Southern Spain, the sun is usually shining right across the region.

The Costa Blanca and Murcia enjoy a micro-climate which has been voted one of the healthiest places to live in Europe by the World Health Authority

Almeria enjoys a hot dry climate and as a result, its landscape is more barren

The Costa del Sol, has probably the best weather year round and is also well protected from rain, due to its imposing mountain backdrop

The Costa de la Luz, situated on the Atlantic Coast, normally provides a welcome sea breeze, making it a popular region for water-sports

Whether you want to get away from the chill of an English winter, or rent your property out for a great return in Summer, Southern Spain offers you the perfect climate to achieve this.
